on September 27, 2020Turquoise the protection stone, the shaman stone. It represents status, power and luxury, it is very important to the Navajo people. Brought into battles, it brings protection. Put into baskets, it brings good fortune, hang on ceilings it protects against evil. Dream catchers had turquoises on it to protect children in their sleeps.
Turquoise is used in many Spiritual ceremonies, and worn with dresses and headdresses honoring the Goddess. Other tribes attribute its healing (Pima people) capacity and the Apaches relate it to the rain.
